The home was built in the Italianate inspired Classic Revival style and is designated in detail on *Canada's Historic Places site.* With the characteristic charm of a Bed & Breakfast and the comfort of an Inn, Jonah Place is the perfect destination for your vacation or weekend getaway, as well as a special location for your wedding or meeting. Jonah Place Bed & Breakfast Inn is located in a beautiful heritage home built in 1884 and named after Judge Harry Jonah, who lived here as a boy and whose family owned the house from 1910 to 1962. The unique Victorian architectural details of the house, have remained well preserved over the years. As a guest at Jonah Place, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the high ceilings with decorative crown mouldings, vast bay windows, impressive marble fireplaces, and "log cabin" style hardwood floors. Throughout the house you will find beautiful antiques and period pieces from North America and the Continent, as well as various collectables and "treasures" gathered during our personal travels.

		*Set against this historical background, Jonah Place offers five tastefully decorated guestrooms, all equipped with every contemporary comfort.* In our sunny breakfast parlour we offer the luxury of choice. *Each day you will be able to select from 5 delicious gourmet offerings, changing daily. We use local produce and goods wherever possible to highlight the bounty of New Brunswick.* During your stay, you will have the two spacious and comfortable parlours at your disposal. Feel free to relax with complimentary coffee or tea and enjoy the peace and quiet by the fireplace with one of our many books, magazines, puzzles or board games. You will find televisions, DVD or VCR players and telephones in all guest rooms. We also offer "password protected" wireless internet in all guest rooms as well as a guest computer station off the main parlour area..

Jonah Place has a large, secluded garden with a variety of trees and plants where you can enjoy the view of the surrounding hills or spend some quiet time sipping on a drink in one of the lawn chairs, hammocks or on the veranda. Sussex is a bird watchers paradise with many species found here that are not readily present in the rest of Canada.

The two parlours as well as the beautifully landscaped garden form a perfect setting for your wedding, reception or meeting. **Jonah Place is located on the edge of town in quiet surroundings. The restaurants, shops and famous murals of Sussex are only a few minutes away.** As a guest at Jonah Place you may want to rent one of our Dutch tandem bicycles to explore the area and admire its impressive natural beauty and historic covered bridges. We offer a package lunch to make this experience one to remember. Sussex also offers excellent opportunities for golfing, hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, wilderness photo shoots to name a few. Even hot air balloon and sleigh rides can be arranged.

		True to tradition, two major events take place in August and September: the Giant Flea Market & Antique Car Show and the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta. Sussex’s central location in southern New Brunswick makes Jonah Place an excellent starting point for all of your daytrips. Sites worth seeing in the area are Fundy National Park, the Fundy Trail Parkway and Hopewell Rocks, St. Martin's Sea Caves, St. Andrews and of course the cities of Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton. Small coastal towns allow you to savour the beauty of the Bay of Fundy without a long drive.
